Chinese Hann sheep, are an old native Chinese breed that is becoming rare as Chinese farmers turn to modern breeds.
This breed is known for producing litters of lambs, 5-7 at a time, instead of the usual one or two. Unfortunately, that is all they are good for as they are a carpet breed with a type of wool that is not much in demand any more, and they don’t produce a lot of meat.
The wool is fairly short, about 5cm, and soft, but not as soft as merino wool.
Size: 120cm long
- These are perfect for using as a rug as the wool doesn’t trap dirt easily. Often dust can just be shaken out.
- Use to make clothing, like a vest or uggies
- Can be made into wool on hide tote bags
They come to me in white, and I can dye them to other colours if you like, for an extra $10. Please ask. Note that these are not bleached so the white is slightly off-white or creamy.
